British actress Carey Mulligan is the latest star to dismiss rumours she is set to appear as the lead in a big screen remake of My Fair Lady.
Keira Knightley was tipped to take the part of Eliza Doolittle, which was made famous by Audrey Hepburn in the 1964 musical, but the Pirates of the Caribbean actress withdrew from the race to land the lead earlier this year (10) after waiting two years for the movie to begin production.
No (it's not true). I would love to, but I'm not signed on to that.Carey Mulligan
Natalie Portman was subsequently rumoured to be in the running for the role, but a spokesperson for the 28 year old brushed off the rumours as "not true".
Mulligan was then named as favourite to land the part, but she has now spoken out to dismiss reports she has signed up to the movie.
She tells FemaleFirst, "No (it's not true). I would love to, but I'm not signed on to that."
