Well, I believe everyone should have freedom to express their views whether pro or anti immigration. However, I also feel, nothing much is going to change by reporting TCS or WIPRO etc. You might get your fingers burnt though. Do not forget the movie Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro

I received the cards today. However, the "Resident Since" date is some date in 2008 instead of 09/20/10 (date when I-485 was approved).
I was told by USCIS customer service to fill out form I-90 and mail it to them for a replacement.
I needed clarification on a cryptic question on the form-
Under Part 3 (Processing information)-
3: City of residence where you applied for an immigrant visa or adjustment of status
The I-90 instructions has this - "City of residence where you applied for an immigrant visa or adjustment of status - List the location of the U.S. Embassy or consulate or USCIS office where you filed your application for an immigrant visa or adjustment of status"
So does this mean it is the service center I applied to during the 2007 fiasco? or where I lived when I-485 was filed? The question is cryptic but the help in the I-90 instructions looks clear.
Any one had this issue before? They do have an option on the form for USCIS error for which I do not need to pay any processing fees...

The percentage of people here are a very small percentage of that 25%.
If H1/L1 visa is restricted, that will give an incentive for americans to acquire a degree in science/engineering, just like the indian students taking courses in india offering a better ROI, as they get the feeling that they won't be discriminated in a job and investing $$$ in education is not going to be wasted.
H1/L1 restrictions are not going to encourage american kids. It does not impact their thinking. Maths, science are tougher subjects for kids. Kids in India were pushed by their parents to study science in search for a good career. Kids here have a lot other avenues which are more attractive to a kid. Kids do not understand L1/H1. 90% of adult population here does not understand H1/L1. REstricting H1/L1 will not influence a kid to take up science and engineering.

Anyone in the similar boat as mine?
I am a july 2nd filer and filed my second application on Aug 15th.
Now that I have got receipts for July 2nd applications, I have put stop payments on the checks on Aug 15th application.
My hope is that my 2nd application will not be processed.

What if its RD and not PD...?
I am sure they are PDs ..see sudden spike in mar 2005. If it was ND or RD you would see that spike in Jul - sep 2007

I am really surprised by the meek response...what is wrong with everyone?? We have just abt 54 letters so far and almost 200 members online right now !!!
If you are reading this but have not written a letter yet, please answer one question for me:
What is the least effort that you can put towards your immigration?
If you cannot write or type a letter, i'm afraid you don't belong to the "Hard working, highly skilled" immigrants that is being referred to in the letter.
Please send me a Private message with your name and deatils and I can write up and post a letter for you....its is actually going to be for me as I am benefitting from this campaign...i don't mind if you get the benefits in the process.
I have the capacity for 3 hand written letters per day...and I am dead serious. We need numbers and a meagre 100 letters are going to get lost amongst thousands of letters that are received at Whitehouse everyday.
People got used to Drive through mentality.
Send me some of those request you receive, I can write and post for those lazy fellos :mad:

The real message in this thread is that you should check what is required by the countries you intend to transit BEFORE you buy your ticket.
It seems to me that an individual should take responsibility for his own actions rather than trying to blame a particular country for a long established requirement for a transit visa.
Maybe you can help the Brits to add more questions to their Transit Visa form from 111 to 1011.

If you can call it EB2 line, yes he will come before you. On the other hand an EB3 guy calls it �GC� line and says that you come later with a Masters and go before him in the line. It depends on which way you look at it.

Only option that person may have now is to change career altogether in the fields where desi consulting companies do not operate.
Its not so simple though. Even after finding a good company to stick to, you should not make up your mind to remain stagnant. When you work for about 5 years, you will be faced with a situation where you are asked to take on more responsibility.
The way things are with the current process, if you want to progress in your career and take on a new challenge (eg: database programmer to a DBA/architect), that would require a new LCA since there is a significant change in the responsibilities.
Also at big companies, there are several lines of businesses which are structured as if they are companies by themselves. If you want to shift between LOBs within the same big company, that would also require a new LCA.

FYI...I heard from some of my friends that Vonage is good as long as you are its customer. Once you call CS and tell them you are leaving...they play all sorts of dirty tricks.
Thats the only reason I hate Vonage. Once you select the option to disconnect you will be in line 1 hr, then some one will come and ask you to hold till they pull up your record. You will be on hold for 20 mins and will be disconnected. This cycle will go on unless you are lucky. I had to try this 4-5 times...then I started hating their service. Otherwise they are good.
