But one thin I enjoy is problem solving and this is one of the hardest out there as it is dynamic.
With Eb3 India the Horizontal spillover methodology kills most hope as there is the large Eb2 India backlog. In 2007(I think) the vertical spillover methodology was followed and Eb3 India got 17000 or so visa numbers. So with Horizontal spillover and no number increase I am sorry to say movement is limited.
Out of curiosity, what are your thoughts on ROW EB3?

what kind of attitude is this. If he/she is eligible to apply they should apply.
Guys who r going 2 get married and have their PD after Dec 2006 and have atleast 2 years of H1-B period left!!Y apply 485 now and wait for atleast 3 to 4 years to apply your spouses. The way I see it you can only apply your spouse's 485 when the PD becomes current again!!Instead y not wait 3 to 4 years and apply simultaneously!!Atleast give the guys who have older PD's a break!!

Just conveying a message is not sufficent. It should be the RIGHT message in a proper way. Flowers was good, because it was the first time something like that happened and it was unique.
No, we are not going to abuse this and we won't be sending stuff over and over. But stoppers have a very Specific significance: to educate and differentiate between legal and illegal. A stopper says "Stop the reverse brain drain"...A stopper would pique people's interest becase we are typically lumped in with illegals, and a stopper does not exemplify what illegals are. Illegal immigration's message is: "legalize us and help new guest workers come", our stopper says "We are already legal and are already leaving, fix this before we all leave"

Let us say USCIS has unused visas, which they want to allocate and they have moved cutoff dates to Jun, 2006 for EB2, similarly Sep 03 for EB3.
My question is, will the visa issuance would be in the order of Priority Dates? or Notification Dates? Recently there has been lot of pressure on USCIS to issue processing results based on Priority Dates, will this force USCIS to correct its ways and issue visas based on Priority Dates.
I might have digressed a little bit on the topic of predicting cutoff dates but this question is lingering among all the IV folks who would be current or already current.
USCIS procedures suggest that for preadjudicated cases, they assign visas in order of PD, which should be the case now as focus appears to be on preadjudication. However, if there are no preadjudicated cases, as seemingly was the case last year, they have no way to do it in PD sequence. In that case, they pick files case by case in sequence of receive date (not the RD on your receipt, but the date when someone entered case data, which is close to ND) which works better for USCIS (but not for us) with wide open cut off dates.

I revisited this thread today and saw several heartwrenching stories of some of our IV members. One way for IV to help you is through letting your situation be known to others via media. We have a few opportunities and if you are interested please send an email to himanshu at immigrationvoice.org. Do not PM me since my PM box gets filled very often.
It will not only help all of us generate awareness about our plight to american public, lawmakers too will be influenced by the magnitude of problems we face while waiting patiently in line for several years. I feel media is a great tool and we can use it very effectively when we all can get our message across in the world outside of this forum. Once we get IV members ready to volunteer for such interviews and to talk about their plight, IV will try its best to get their voices heard.
It will not only help all of us generate awareness about our plight to american public, lawmakers too will be influenced by the magnitude of problems we face while waiting patiently in line for several years. I feel media is a great tool and we can use it very effectively when we all can get our message across in the world outside of this forum. Ronhia, I appreciate your comments. It needs conviction, dedication and consistent efforts to make such accomplishments. Moreover it also demonstrates the character of a person, who can motivate and inspire other kids in a positive way.. especially in an environment full of negative distractions.
If spelling bee competition is considered merely as just cramming the dictionary, as you rightly said we need to really spend some time looking beyond your own shell.
When you open a magazine, for sure, you tend to come across pages that may not be of interest to you. We skip the page and move on rather whining with words (yucky, stupid, senseless) that are inappropriate.
"Winning a national competition is not so great"... again it depends on what is so great to you !!!..

Did you apply 485 in August 07 and already your status is showing pending? Did you receive a receipt notice?

I have April 04 priority date (EB3/India). 485 received in Aug 07. The online status says 485 received and pending. What is the expected next status (whenever it will happen). For example, if your case (name) is for FBI Name Check process, will the status say something like that? What are the different status between receipt and APPROVAL(/denied)? Any experience holders???
