This has got nothing to with corruption or bribe but, everyhting to do with milking helpless immigrants...they just wanna squeeze you harder and harder so that someday you will give up...
This new proposed rule will not matter for retrogressed categories / countries.
It will affect the lucky few whose PDs are current and can file concurrently. It certainly looks like they are enforcing (FORCING) premium process I-140s down everyones' throat now. It is a very typical dirty ploy from this administration.
Think twice before you talk about corruption and bribes in third world countries. We all know how this system 'works' now...

That's correct, employer cannot withdraw I-140 after I-485 has been pending for 180 days. Also, even if I-140 is not approved after 180 days, it can be ported to a different employer, provided that the original I-140 was approvable. Ability to pay in that case is determined based on the original company's ability to pay.
pro, 1) you must have a job offer in hand in the same or similar postion for your green card to be approved (this is why it is called employement based category) 2) AC21, which can be invoked any time after your I-485 has been pending for more than 180 days, changes the sponsoring employer on your green card. You may actually work for any employer in the meantime, provided, you have proper authorization.

I mean... this is nonsense. You are employing 50K+ people and you behave so irresponsibly. This guy should be hanged.
But in India nothing happens, things go in court forever and government helps them once they get the money they want. I am sure this guy has diverted all that money internally to his son's companies or swiss bank.
How can a IT company with so many projects and clients can not have cash in hand to pay the employees. So unbelievable.
PWC is again showing their lack of integrity. It looks like for Fraud it does not depend whether it is Indian, MNC, big, small, government, private, reputation...It's just greed. Remember Enron, walstreet guy who scammed billions, Illinois governer, chinese milk products...
still i can not believe how much more he want even after owning such a big company... Is he mad?

I used to be client of Gowda couple of years back and I did not like the experience at all.
My situation was little different. Gowda's firm was the de-facto firm used by my employer although I used to pay all attorney fees out of my pocket. In spite of me paying for his fees the firm always put my employer's interests ahead of mine. My employer then was a typical blood sucking desi consultancy shop and used pending GC as one of their leverage to make employees stuck with them in spite of poor pay scale. As far as my own experience goes Gowda's firm happily played along with my employer in the grand scheme. They denied me any update regarding whether my labor was cleared as well as didn't send me any original approval notices/receipts etc. at my employer's request. When I raised lot of noise I was finally told I can no longer have direct access to the attorneys and have to route my requests through my employer! I wised up, cut short my losses and ditched both of them to join a big respectable company loosing my earlier PD and approved labor in the process (which I'm sure my employer must have sold back when LC substitution was legal). I finally received my GC in September.
Your experience maybe different if you directly retain Gowda without involving your employer. Competency is not an issue here, conflict of interest is.
I agree with SSA. I retained Gowda without employer interference and still I did not get proper service and guidance. Further I found that Gowda is not keen to handle EB cases, compared to Investor categoy cases and the rates are exorbitant if there are any RFEs or representations for smaller persons. I moved away to Ron Gotcher and found his fees are dead cheap and his services are thousands of time worth, compared to the fees I paid.

Just a quick question:
My employer had legal dept and lawer filed G28 form for me when applied for I-485. Do we really need to hire a lawyer to represent us? I am planning to move to client under similar job description this month end and would like to see if I have to file AC21 and change the lawer representation.
I appreciate any response.
You do not need a lawyer. Just make sure CIS has your correct mailing address and keep watching your cases regularly for RFEs.
In the event of an RFE, you can respond on your own most of the times. If you think it requires a complex response or if you are not confident, you can hire a lawyer at that point to respond to that RFE.
I would even say handling your case on your own is safer as I know some cases where the lawyer goofed up by not responding to RFEs. The applicant was not even watching his case status as he had left everything to the attorney and he had no idea about the RFE.
It is also not necessary to inform CIS about your job change unless there is a possibility that your previous employer may revoke your 140.

2000-2002 was worst. Who didnt do job search during that time have no idea how it felt like.
I just came out of school then and it felt like sky is falling on me. Becoming desparate to survive, i went to work in a gas station. The lady owner didnt pay me after i worked for a week saying i am not concentrating enough. Then out of no where i found a technology job that paid 17$ per hour to keep me going and they did my H1 a year later in 2002. It just made me more strong i guess. But, it is a hell of an experience. Most of my freinds went for second masters or PHD to Keep the status.
I've got to agree with you. I was just getting out of college that time as well. I had a job at Best Buy, and trying to find my first break, and all my senoirs were getting laid off. I finally got an internship at a startup company for $2000 a month, and ever since then the market has been doing good. I really hope it will never come to the way it was back then. But as of now things are doing quite well, there is stilll a lot of hiring going on.

guys,
you need to understand why we were in DC. you also need to think about what message we were sending. each person's philosophy about national anthems is not at issue here. this is a pointless discussion. frankly i am tired of people (i am one) that do not live in their countries but lose no opportunity to retreat in jingoistic nationalism. want want want...but no give?
if no one has serious objection, i will close this thread shortly. the above comments are not for any specific person/poster. just a general view.

Every credit reporting company has option to put freeze on your account. They will assign you a security key for the freeze.
Search for "experian freeze"
You can manage your freeze account online. So, when someone wants to run your credit report, it will be denied. You would have to manually lift the freeze for anyone to access your credit report.
