I think many of consultants those came here with small companies might not got payment initially until you the project ataleast for few weeks. That period of time is the eligibility for illegal status.
Well they will easily find out from your SSN number if one is on payroll or not. I am seriously looking into this matter of getting illegal and many of my friends agree. Once the bill passes in its current form we should get advise from a good lawyer to convert status from legal to illegal. It sounds so insane when I say changing for legal to illegal..but that is the hit thing these days.

Hi,
I think at this point, you need to show that the original 2000 graduation date was final and true. I would try to get a letter from your school stating that you did graduate with B.S. degree in 2000 and 2000 was the graduation year. Try to get an official letter stating that. The letter could, if possible, explain why later dates appear on you degree transcript. However, it must underline that you graduated in year 2000.
If you can get an official letter from your university that will be great.

See the thing is you graduated in 2000, but u have some supplimental exams which u took in 2001 and 2002. I am just curious, do you have separate marksheets for supplimental exams. If yes, then check with your university, if they can club those mark sheets in to the old ones.
I have seen ppl getting it done. The subject u had to retake will have a star on it.

In fact, I got laid off recently, my LC gone, which was filed on Sep,2004. I am looking for job again on my 8th year H1B extension. In this uncertain future it is better to return home for me.
I was in similar situation last year, I got layed off after working for 5 years in same company and was on my 6th year h1b with eb3 L/C pending in BEC. I switched to consulting immediately and got extension based on the old L/C and applied for new GC.
These are situations that are not under our control. We must live with these FOL

I think we all have this OCD to keep checking IV. I am in EB3 and i know nothing is going to happen to my 485 for the next 3 or more years, i myself keep checking IV, no wonder why you dont want to....
Atleast be happy that you have a probability that you will get it by aug, think about all the rest of us who dont know what will ever happen and when we may get freed from the clutches of desi employer.....
May be we should all become afghani translators or get religious visa and apply again in EB4 / EB5 :confused:

1) Calling congressman/senator and asking them to help your case.
2) Writing to Ombudsman.
Since no one in America does much of anything in December I am planning to start trying with congressmans office in mid Jan. I have to do something and try - I cant keep sitting hands folded. Or they will say quota is over before we know it - remember ROW is at 2005.
That's true that Dates becoming current does not necessarily ensure that someone will work on your case. Writing to Ombudsman might help (but not necessarily). There is a simple form, Form DHS-7001, fill it and send to Ombudsman (address to send to is on the form - you can search for the form). They forward it to your Service Center for an answer within 45 days. If your dates remain current for this 45 day period, there is a chance that your Service Center will look at your case. If not, Service Center may just wait until your dates are retrogressed again and send a standard reply that you are not current.
Taking an InfoPass might initiate some action too.
Best of luck....

Will I-485 package get rejected if no employment letter attached?
While rushing to send our packages to USCIS on July2nd, we could not get our future employment letter signed and did not include in the package. But now I have the employment letter.
Experts, do you think I need re-file or wait out?

Alternative work-arounds (Having it both ways) :):) : Here is what some people do. .............
This is totally legal and I was advised to do this by my current company's HR. She said "Wing it". To paraphrase her, if you dont need coverage, then dont send payment and let them cancel. If you need coverage, then send them payment so that you are covered while you needed doctor/hospital. It works. No one likes to send a check of 1000-1500 dollars to insurance company for one month COBRA insurance if you end up not needing any benefits at all during that month. Right?
I did the same (a few years ago when I was on H1b) and I think its perfectly legal and common practice to do. In fact our HR gave us COBRA documents and written advice to this affect (note: its a well-known company with 100k+ employees at that time; they would not have advised if its not legal)

Are you sure he is not going to mess up ur case because u filed using a different law firm against his wishes.
You only can answer the above question. If u think there is a possibilty that he will mess it up, Dont go with a different law firm.
Talk to him and see what he needs.
I do have copy of labor approval but I donot have copy of job description that they filed for labor. I also have copy of 140 approval.
I don't think I can get letters from HR (there are couple of people who handles everything from getting timesheets to posting payslips) as they very loyal to my employer.
Then I guess my only options are
- give it a try to file through another attorney with paystubs and without employer letter.
- forget about $5000 and proceed.
