I would not mind getting EAD few weeks late and prefered to have reciept notice recieved instead. I filed Jul 2nd at TSC and no news yet about Reciept, CC, EAD, AP. Most July 2 filer at NSC got their reciepts 2 weeks ago.
There may be 1% chance of 485 being rejected and that is pretty scary. Easly NSC filers can atleast put their mind at rest for 485 acceptance.

Guys and Gals,
I decided to go with my credit union and called them this morning to lock the rates. I just received some disclosures and rate lock agreement, when I was reading it, there was a section where it asks "Are you a U.S citizen?", loan office assumed that I'm a citizen and checked the box.
I understand that I should tell them the truth, but wondering if that may increase my interest rates. Please share your experience or advice you may have for me.

It's because you, me, or any temporary legal immigrant will go back home if some law changes, and new batch of H1 B people will come in to fulfill industry requirement, but for illegal, route from South America is a one way street to USA and no going back. Plus, if temporary legal immigrants leave, US Govt. got to keep all our social security, retirement saving etc. if you think from their angle (US govt.), I guess for them, it makes more sense to legalize illegal (so at-least govt. can get some share of money from their taxes) because no matter what govt. do, illegal are never going to go back.
I just don't understand one basic question.
Congress is trying to pardon 12 million illegals as a one time measure and give them Green Cards. (OK - Very good)
On the other hand we are about half a million who entered the country legally and helping the U.S. economy and paying taxes. Why don't they consider giving all of us Green Cards as a one time measure too ?????

This has been discussed before, but I could not find a definitive answer.
I live in Alabama and my I-485 is pending with Nebraska Service Center. Based on instructions in I-765 form, Alabama falls under Texas Service Center.
My category for I-765 EAD is -- (c) (9).
Now I am filing for my EAD renewal. Where should I send in my paper application -- Nebraska or Texas?
Would you all pl let me know. Last time my EAD was messed up big time, (wrong dates on EAD card), and I want to make sure everything goes normal this time.

You need to follow instructions. It makes no difference in processing time if your I-485 application is pending in NSC and based on instruction you need to apply in TSC and Vice Versa.
In fact I think, load sharing is going on. I applied I-765 at NSC but case is handled by MSC. Don't be surprized, that you apply at TSC and case being handled by other office.

is that if you leave the employer before 1 year, it can be a problem. But if the employer lays you off, its not an issue. Get an opinion from an attorney to be sure.

I have not been laid off and I don't have problems finding jobs; in fact my company has asked me to search for one more person with a background similar to mine. However I have been limited by the requirements of AC21. I was toying with the idea of leaving the country; but cannot sell my primary residence and might have problems obtaining a visitor visa for re-entry (to close on the house). I was seriously considering investing in some more real estate; but am holding back due to the random AC21 denials. I want to start my own business since I finally got my EAD this year - but with all the uncertainity of AC21 case approvals, I am not willing to put personal resources into a business in this country. Currently I am working on starting a free workshop for investment in my community - which will stop if my I-485 is denied in case my former employer revokes my I-140 (and yes; I did send in the letters for AC21). I have registered my dog with therapy international and volunteer my time for various causes (cabin repair, trail maintenance, public education) and donate regularly to the fire and police - all of these will take a hit if I have to leave.
I wonder what the reporter will conclude if he/she talks to immigrants who have lost jobs and have trouble finding new projects........

That is because I see lot of kids come to "what was the name again" schools with megre or no GRE scores just to land here once they get to OPT they get 8 - 10 yrs of experience out of nowhere and they are out in the job market. I can spend all day writing about them, the school and the quality of education but it is not going to do any difference.

In our case, the primary applicant has received FP but the dependent has not yet received, has this happened to anyone?
I called Customer Service and now they ask that we wait 180 days from the time the case is transferred to NSC before enquiring about it !
My spouse got the FP but I'm waiting. I'm the primary. I opened 2 SRs but only my wife got the FP, whereas I got a notice to basically wait. god knows

Consult a good Lawyer. I think there is some rule that you apply 485 for your spouse within 6 months of your 485 approval for her to join you.

Q1) i am applying for the first time for my i-485 that requires i-693 form.
My question is, do i have to submit my i-485 together with my i-693, or do i have to apply first the i-485 form and then wait until i get a respond from the USCIS.
I was told that i am supposed to wait for the respond from the USCIS after applying my
i-485, and the USCIS will designate the doctors for my I-693, which means i cannot choose any doctors on my own. But in this reform , according to the users' discussion, so far i understand that you can apply for the i-693 form regardless if you have already applied for the i-485 form.
Q2) To simplify my second question, while i am applying for my i-485, and before its submission to the USCIS, can i start making an appointment with my local Surgeon?

Canadian Border is like an hour nad half drive for me. I can drive up to border but i don't have a canadian visa. So i will be denied an entry and if i return back will i get a new I-94?

Generally when you are travelling by road to canada they do not issue new I-94s. You have to be in Canada for atlease a week or so to ask for a new I-94. I travelled on business few times. They never gave me new I-94s saying I have been there only for a night. I think, the I-94 attached to your H1 extension should be valid till that H1 expires.
Years ago(1999), my wife's I-94 expired, because at the airport the immigration office entered wrong date. We never verified. We were going by the H4 validity. After the expire date, I spoke my lawyer he was prepared to file for new I-94 but asked for 750USD. I went to the local immigration office in Boston and they corrected it without any issue.
Very recently as last week, we were coming from Canda after spending a week. We crossed the border by ferry, my wife's passport is due to expire in couple of months, her current I-94 is valid for 2 years. We told the office that we do not need a new I-94 and he was OK with that.
So check with the local immigration office, but only after getting a new passport.

You need to speak to an attorney. The language which ties to this employer until a project is completed might go against the "employment at will" law - not sure what the status is in NJ.
Once you complete a timesheet, an employer should pay you considering the timesheet is appropriate and not fraudulent. If the employer does not get paid by the client, that liability should not shift to you in terms of asking you pay back your paycheck.
