Yesterday on cnn and ofcourse on lou dobbs show there was a statement that I guess Chamber of commerce was drafting the CIR.. he was so pissed off about it .. I donno if it is possible to use IV lobbying to get our goals in CIR through Chamber of commerce.

Hi Guys,
My LCA has Computer Software Engineer as job title.I have 5 years of Experience as Oracle functional consultant.Currently I'm working as Oracle consultant.My 140 is approved and got my EAD card.In jan 2008 it will be 180 days of filing 485.I want to change my career towards IT Sales.
I have an offer from an American Staffing company as a Technical Recruiter.The job responsibilities include hiring Software Engineers.But the job title is different from my LCA.I want to join this company using EAD in jan 2008 and apply AC 21.Today I have checked with my Lawyer this is what she says"
In instances such as this, when we send the letter to the USCIS regarding AC21, we include the following details with reference to the job title. … Although the job title differs, the job duties are substantially the same. The title used by the company is their internal designation for this position."
She says that i will be able to work as Technical Recruiter using EAD.Any one can suggest me on this?I have very little knowledge about AC 21 and how it works

I have the non-availibility cert and a parent signed notarized affidavit with me but I am really thinking of submitting these to the registrar to try to get a real birth certifiate. The only reason I did not do it earlier was that somebody mentioned it takes a long time once you submit these to the registrat since it apparently has to go to the state capital or something like that. Anyway will try to get it during my next trip to India.
How about police varification records from India. Can we get that ahead of time or has it to be dated close to the date of 485 application? Since we only visit India for short periods isn't it ok to get that taken care of during our visits?

USCIS is not efficient, and in fact they are playing with EB3s. There needs to be better transparency, and better adherence to the laws.

i believe that the unity among indians in UK is far greater than that of indians here in USA.
On my last trip to london I had a brief glimpse at the clout of Indian community there, they are very strong and united to make their voices heard, no doubt Tony Blair acknowledged.
I have almost decided to let my american dream rest in peace, now I am looking at immigrating to Canada, in my last 5 years of study about canadian society , i have noticed it to very liberal and many of my friends both indians and americans who settled there have settled for life, many of them work across border in USA either in detroit or in seattle but they are not interested in moving their homes here. So I think i can pursue my dream of free world and enterpreneurship from there.
H1b status and pre GC status is a big quagmire of blackholes, I am not interested in putting away 10 years of my life waiting for GC.
Screw GC , Canadian PR is there, if nothing works my home-India is there ...

What if the I-140 is approved, I-485 pending less than 180 days and change of jobs to happen?
In this case, can the employer still revoke the I-140 though it has been approved already?
if you change your employer within 180 days of 485 RD, the employer can revoke your 140 which will invalidate your 485.
After 180 days you can switch using your H-1 too. The EAD is not necessary.

There were few employers too who attended the rally because they believed in the cause.
I spoke to a French guy, forgot his IV handle, he got his EAD recently, he flew all the way from Miami, he googled up immigration and found IV 2 weeks back, looked at the rally stuff and came and attended the rally.
Hats of to all these people who have respected IV with passion.

I was just thinking if it would help to gain more publicity if this site goes by a different name. On several instances while calling lawmakers or other people, the moment I mention immigrationvoice.org they think it is related to Illegal immigration / CIR etc. I need to stress that it is about legal immigration.
Even the flyers don't catch enough attention
Any name that does not have immigration in it (something like numbersusa), and reflects our main focus - green card retrogression and legal immigration would help - Just a thought...

1. We have to change names everywhere, including the name in the registration of the organization in New Jersey where its registered as non-profit, name change in other places like IRS where we got approved as a non-profit organization for tax purposes, in next year's tax return, etc.
2. Changing names in other reports we file at Federal Govt.
3. Letting all offices and other org we are working with know about this.
You would be surprised how much awareness and knowledge is there about Immigration Voice in the staff of various Senators and senior house members. Most of the Judiciary counsel staffers know about immigration voice. Since so much work has gone into building the name-recognition .... A VERY IMPORTANT ASSET... it would be tough to transfer all the name recognition to a new name.
