Thanks for clarifying. IV appreciates support from LGBT community. You have done amazing amount of work for IV in the recent past. Some of the Bay area folks still remember your leadership at 5K run at San Francisco Golden Gate. You created a decent amount of buzz by bringing along your friends all the way to California.
IV members: Having said that, I would just like to remind some IV members to be mindful of the fact that we enjoy support from diverse groups of people and it makes sense to extend reciprocal courtesy when responding to some of the posts here e.g. the UAFA bill etc.

The intent of the UAFA is to allow US Citizens and permanent residents to sponsor their foreign-born partners for permanent residency by means of demonstrating a "permanent partnership". Let me re-emphasize, this bill is geared primarily for the LGBT Community of which I am a proud member, so if you are supporting this bill, my thanks to you.

We have added more words to the meta keywords of the site. However we do have to realize that what really matters in Search Engine rankings is the linking from other sites. Hence as we're getting more and more exposure, more sites link to us and it is boosting our ranking.

No, She don't have pay stubs and office just asked her husbands pay stubs ( for whom she is a dependent) and she didn't mention about her H1 and not attached H1 release in the visa documentation. She just attended for H4 visa with only documents that required for H4.

3. Insist that they follow the procedures outlined in the memo. Do not leave until they do what they have to do according to the memo. They have to provide you a receipt that they followed the procedures.

I just want to point out one missing thing here. I read all postings here and you guys talking about "People like lallu, Jaya, Karunanidhi, Naidu etc,". Might be you will add some more names for this category. I am sure most of the above patriotic Indians will not like to add names like Bal Thackeray, Modi etc. Majority of you guys like to add names like Dawood ibrahim (I hate guys who kill other human being including this guy) to bad guys list. At least people like "lallu, Jaya, Karunanidhi, Naidu etc" are Ok (that does not mean they are good). They kill one or two (might be 10/50) for their self interest and money. Guys like Bal Thackeray, Modi killing entire community openly by taking Police support. Same time so called patriotic-Indians elect these guys and make chief ministers. I always wonder when Thackeray, Modi can become ministers after committing such atrocities and walk freely in India, why can't people like Dawood Ibrahim (after all he is also indian and successful in his own profession).

One intelligent posting amidst the cacophony. Keep it up. Sometime back one of the admin wrote about tightening the belt, holding on to ride this wave of market trouble. I wonder whether someone knowledgeable could create a thread (or add to one that exists) about this mess, mechanisms that led to it and how it is going to affect the slaves, pintos and the rest (of iV) in the next 12 months? An intelligent discussion for a change. You have to understand derivatives and structured investment vehicles to understand what the economy is facing. The risk of sub prime CDO's has been spread thorough out the credit markets. Just imagine Bear Stearns which has a head quarters building in NYC worth $1 billion was sold for $236 Mil. Yankees pay A-Rod more than that. This will tell you how the valuation of derivatives has depleted cash flow and liquidity of a wall street titan which had stood through the great depression, 2 world wars, market crashes in the 1970's, 87, 01 and recessions in between.
Google "Long term Capital management (LTCM)" and study their history you will see what derivatives are capable of. Warren buffet calls derivatives "Financial instruments of mass destruction".
So the man is faced with such a mess, don’t insult his intelligence by making unwarranted statements.

While waiting for GC ( which may take several more yrs !!!) I want to go for Life Insurance, Since I am at age of about 40 its need to be done, though I have enough of that in India, not in US. In that regards I just started evaluating different options. Plesase share your comments and experiences during search of Life Insurance.
(1) which is better to go for term life or whole life
(2) I started contacting agents (mainly desi) and they recommend Whole life ( if you can afford premium). They tell that it is ultimately result in Saving, Dividend etc. So my question is Does paying EXTRA PREMIUM ( i think it will be substantially high for whole life) RESULT in EQUIVALENT OF SAVINGS OR DIVIDENS? or just agents recommends that because they get more commissions with that?
(3) I see lot of DESI agents in New york Life, So is it due to their speciallity in Indian Community market? Does they offer competative products?
(4) How to search of best rate for Whole or Term Life, Does Select qoute and Other such agencies are good to their promise of getting low cost? Does companys that we get through Select qoute give Insurance to NON-PERMANENT RESIDENTS like US

As I see, most of you are missing the point. Instead of trying to understand, you showing the maturity of mind. The whole purpose of EB immigration is to meet the Demand(Job opportunities) vs the supply(immediately available candidates).
When there are a lot of opportunities exists for EB3 level(skilled profession) and less opportunities exists for EB1(Ph.D/Executive Director), USCIS should give more no. of Visas to EB3, then EB1.
A country cannot be built with only the kings, and not even a home can be built with only Ph.Ds(Nobody do the dishes).
Unfortunately, Americans will claim that there are lot of Americans who can build homes and therefore no immigrants are needed to do that. They are less willing to do PhD so there is a demand for immigrants.

If there is unity, and all of us walk out with all our money, this would definitely get the attention of the lawmakers.
I suggested the same action last year. Right now, waiting for 485 (EB 2 LC took close to 6 years) - but I feel if 20-30K of us left (and take our money with us too, don't leave it here to work for this country) because we are being screwed by the stupid immigration laws, that will have a bigger impact in changing the laws than any lobbying effort possibly would.

You are right -- 3 Year Bachelor + 3 year Master (in related field) is good to go. 3 Year Bachelor + 2 year Master is unlikely to sail through.
In this case, OP need to establish that his/her Masters is 3 years.
Looks like a few people at USCIS know that some kind of masters degree from india with a 3 years bachelors unrelated to ones profession cannot be used in place of US masters. Did not realize that USCIS has some people who know the rules and play by them. If all USCIS people who approve these cases know about this and if lawyers stop justifying that correspondence masters degree is equivalent of US masters, bogus initial eb2 applications as well as porting could be stopped.

I work for Fortune 100 company and we are celebrating Diwali on Friday. There are flyers on all the corners and are expecting more than 500 co-workers for pot-luck lunch. In our pre-trial conference, we don't have chance to say any words in our case. Judge only asked my wife if she need no-contact or peaceful contact with me. My wife said no for either. But that DA still insist peaceful contact. Finally judge set peaceful contact for us.
SO far my wife's police statement is only words from her. Definitely my wife support me, she even asked my attorney if she plead guilty to peace disturbance, is that possible to dismiss my battery charge. Sure I don't want to risk her for any bad record. I will say we are in good marriage although we play around all the time. (Definitely we much careful since that terrible event)
Is that useful we find some witness, my wife's colleague and friends to demonstrate we are in good relationship?
