doesn't matter if H1 is expired and AP is current. You are still good to fly via frankfurt.

gc_chahiye, Thanks for your response. So, can I be on H1 with my current employer, A, and on EAD with my new employer, B, simultaneously?
Also, employer B might be able to start me on H1-B (my preference--just in case)--though as you said, B will have petition my new H1 for concurrent filing. My other option, of course, is to wait until Feb '08--though I'll miss out on a month's salary from B (not a biggie in order to not have any potential issues).
Why dont you just work for your new employer in december on voluntary basis and take the salary in Jan as a signon bonus?. This way you will have a clean record of 6 months on H1.

Hello,
Yes, as my PD is Feb 2005, this implies that the case has been pre-adjudicated as of now pending new finger prints.
My case was originally at NSC, was then send to MSC (National Benefits Center) and then was sent to local USCIS office in San Francisco where I went for an interview and then had this request for documents. The processing dates for San Francisco field office as of now for I-485 are Aug 1, 2008. So, I'm assuming that they have cleared all the cases that reached them by 31 July 2008 and that NSC sent my case file to them by 31st July 2008.
The IO who interviewed me was different than the one who has worked on my case since.

In forums, I've only seen EAD approvals either from TSC or from CSC. Any July/Aug filers got EAD approvals from NSC?

I do not think one would not go to India just because he/she is scared to get a stamp in India. The loss of someone dear to you can overcome any such fears one might have (for me atleast thats applicable).
In any case, I did not know (neither did my collegaue) of the emergency quota. Thanks for sharing that with us and thanks to forums like these, every day is a learning experience.

But I do know my colleague did get his appointment through emergency quota and got his stamping and returned back, after attending his father-in-law's death/ funeral. He was not able to schedule the appointment through the online system, but he had to call the consulate directly to get his appointment. He got his appointment in the same week he had called them.

Mine took 8 days after the online status changed to approved-so don't worry. It's funny, on their website, they said documents mailed on sept 10, but i rcvd them on sept 17th. When i rcvd the AP, i realized the documents were mailed on sept 13-sept -- so don't blindly trust what is online.
There was a black line---uscis printer completely screwed up-and the first line of the address on mailing envelope and the address was completely un-readable. I am not sure how we even got it in mail.
I second to CC123. I had G-28 on everything. I got the EAD and AP directly. However, I did not get any original receipt notices from USCIS. My lawyer got the all original receipt notices.

Can you please share your experiences with renewal of Indian passport in US. They are asking for 3.5cm x 3.5cm photos which are not same as the regular passport size photos. The CGI Houston website mentions passport size photos as requirement in some places and 3.5cm X 3.5 cm photos in some other places. Can you please share on what you did for the photos? thanks a lot.

Is it possible to file I-485 without I-693(Medical) ?
The reason I ask is that I cannot get a doctor's appointment in July. For some reason, if we are able to file in July, can I submit the 485 first and submit teh I-693 later.

I had the same problem with my desi employer about a couple of years ago. Tell him that you are going to call the IRS if he does not correct the W2. then go ahead and call the IRS. they will send him a letter, most often than not it should take care of things, otherwise the IRS will investigate the employer.
I hope you have the Pay stubs to prove your claim.

My H1 B expires this December. My lawyer has filed for extension. Looks like I will get my extension approved only in Jan. He mentioned that I can work on a pending H1-B extension for 240 days. Is this true? Also can I get my DL renewed using the H1-B receipt notice? Gurus please advise.
