Even if it is ok to fight how much resource IV have it to fight multiple issues. Resource means not just money but also time, manpower and effort. Most of the issues can be resolved if EB reform is done as people need not renew H1b as most can get GC within 3 years. Law clearly tells that there should be valid job position for H1b at the time of filing. For consulting bodyshoppers will bring persons here and search for job. That is clearly violation of law.
But certainly it can be requested to USCIS to change if geneunie persons are impacted. If memorendum is violation of law then USCIS will face lawsuit and you can also do that

If all IMV memebers ever come to form a political party, people like you should be avoided. For you it's all love for YSR..where as for others it's not about YSR or CBN. It is about there values and what they stand for against (corruption, blood politics, land grabbing and so forth..)
Since you dont have your GC details filled in your profile, I would assume your interest in this website is not related to immigration. You might come back arguing that your GC process is about to start or this is public forum and anyone can post anything.
Now, looking at the pattern of your postings, you seem to bash YSR, Jagan clan of people. (Not that I like them)..It looks like you have other political interests in this bashing as against genuine concern for people, 'coz you dont seem to acknowledge that TDP is a corrupt party. I am fairly confident, touch wood, that I would not be dependent on India for a handout. I have paid my debts to the Indian society by investing in India. I did not graduate out of an IIT but I did graduate out of the 2nd best engineering college (atleast then) in Rajasthan, India. I am sure you guys would have guessed it by now. Just for the record, I had to pay full expensive tuition and my education was not subsidized. By my responsible style of life, I believe that I have become a self made man and so would hopefully be of material help but not a public burden to India. be rest assured !!!

And here we are just talking of engineering colleges. Not even mentioned about medical or others. So yours would be like probably 50th best college in India. That is certainly not the best and brightest. I am from top 10 engineering colleges of India at the time.
My brother is a gold medalist in CS from India's top NIT and has done MS here from top 10 universities. My wife has also done MS from here (top 20 school) with a good GPA.
So give up ur GC now for recapture and go back! The better and brighter are waiting for it behind you.

I wonder what is causing people to say this water is for Kanndiga's. This state is only for Marathas.
Water issues always arise when the stae above tries to have as much as it can with no regard to the sates below. Instead of politicians in Karnataka thinking we should play fair, they stoke the regional sentiments saying we will give our lives to protect Kannadiga interests. Same story with every state where there are enough gullible people to assume that they are fighting for their right. As long as they have fish to bite the race/ethnicity/language/caste cards, they will do it.
If you can't find anything to be proud of about India, then I don't know what to say.
I am following the discussion. The reason I mentioned about Maratha issue is to bring attention to the fact that I have issue with the segregation on basis of regional/ethnicity and not against Tamilians specifically.
Remember this is 2009. If that doesn't answer your question on why shouldn't compare Bangladesh with Srilanka, nothing ever will. (You can wake up the person who is sleeping , but you can't wake up some one who is pretending to be sleeping.)
I am an Indian and my native tongue is not Tamil. I donot consider the issue in Srilanka as Tamil issue. I don't consider it as Indian issue either. I consider it as Srilankan issue.

I couldnt submit my previous 140 approval notice since it was during 2000-2001. How important is the previous H1 B approval notices for a 140 approval ? . I submitted the current approval notice which is from 2006-2009

That said - please be careful in the language you use. Let us not bad mouth the agencies and keep cheast beating - remember such a thing will work against us. We are benefeciaries and we must only focus on our issues and also convey the message in a positive way.
In external discussion forums - do not get offensive with anyone who tries to oppose us. These things work against us.

I think this discussion is enough. The ratio of persons wanting to file a case agains't USCIS is more than 85% . The poll never reduced to less than 85% even after a lot of members were added at different intervals.
We need plaintiffs. People who have been working for fortune 500 companies or govt organisations or non profit organisations or university research or commercial research organisations will be the best fit because they will have a clean immigration history? I think we need a seperate thread for plaintiffs or a seperate group. What do u guys say? Somebody can also contact AILA also about plaintiffs. We may need to start a seperate thread or seperate yahoo group for plaintiffs.

You can renew your permanent resident card only if you lived in canada for atleast 2 years in 5 years. And to get the card, you need to get a guarantor signature who knows you for atleast 2 years e.g. a physician, attorney, etc

Just hang on to your jobs or find a job if you loose one. You will get your GC. GC shouldn't stop you from pursuing your interests buying house or starting a business, there are always ways to do it.
I am guessing that your intention is good but the advice is BAD (to put it mildly).
Find a new job if you are on H1 / or even EAD -- first try the same and then let us know.
regarding buying house - if you are welder from Korea - sure go ahead even if you PD is 2006. if from China / India -- just forget it for the time being ... it will add too much stress in your life ..better have the money in liquid form. it is good to be optimistic but you need to be a realist first ..as others have said, if they cannot print a plastic green card for you then it is foolish for you to invest your hard earned money in real estate

There was a huge discussion during the presedential campaign on why Obama is a great choice...but looks like he is just another socialist democrat. Desi companies are to blame but not always.
This is a common practice in big companies. Guess which companies have got the most number of LC's to substitute. It is some of the big software and consulting firms. Myself being a part of one such company have seen a lot of my co-workers use it to get their GC. I will admit though that in big companies it is used after one of the following has happened:
1> You have been stuck in LC stage for a long time.
2> The initial original LC got messed up due to lawyer or company negligence.
3> The I-140 stage got messed up due to lawyer or company negligence.
4> You are an old employee but did not somehow start your GC process till you only had a year or less remaining on your H-1.
Unfortunately for me, none of the above has happened so the company will not use LC substitution for me. But it is a common practice.
Many big companies (I am not referring to desi companies here) use it when they fire a guy for whom they have an approved labor cert. This is the commonest scenario. Until sub labor is banned, and there is no certainty that it will be, we will have to live with this menace.
A person I know was so delighted when his colleague was fired because he got to use his LC; they were doing a very similar job. I am talking about a very large firm in Dallas.
