By now, we all know of at least one person who lost his/her job recently. Unfortunately, this is a very tough time for all the people around the world, not just here in the US. But, we have to worry about our status here in the US.
This is the one community which helps people like us, who are still waiting to go GREEN!!!. No body is going to help you or me get a job when we lose one. We have to help ourselves. We have to help each other.
So, Friends, apart from sharing the bad news of layoffs with the community, please also share any job openings here. Let us try to help the ones here, without a job, to get one. I know it is not a job portal, but this is the one place, where we all immigrants come together. This is the time to help each other. You bring up some valid points. But then, every issue we bring up with regards to USCIS is valid. There is no transaparency in this agency, which is why we have all these issues. Even before this 180 day rule, there was no way for us to find out if and when USCIS requested NC and when it was completed.
Right but if my doubts are valid and USCIS may be planning to act in the said way then we can proudly say that " we have been legally fooled" by USCIS.

If you want to elicit a response on retrogression, then you have to call their office and ask to speak with the person that deals with immigration issues and policy.
Or you can seek an appointment with that person and see what they have to say about this. Writing a letter will get you a generic form-letter response from a junior staffer whose job is to pick one of the 25 form-letter responses based on issue (Iraq, healthcare, immigration, veteran's affairs, crime, gun-control, abortion, judicial appointments, taxes, etc. etc. etc.) and slap your name/address and stick a postage stamp and mail it.

The second bill (HR 5634) says that people with PhD from US universities are cap-exempt from EB. So it means some quota will be freed up from EB1 and also from Eb2-NIW.

Actual daily press and wire service photographers will undoubtly use 4mp. You may not be aware, but all the goreous 2 column color shots you see on USA Today etc. are printed from files that are usually 700k - 800k. There are heavily compressed for transmitting. All the wires do that. They don't get full files. The most attractive things to me are the high ISO performance, the ability to customize colorspace amd I'm anxious to test the new autofocus capabilities. The 8 mp is a plus for shooting for a mag or other output. Even at that, I've had 1D shots as a glossey mag color that looked great. One advantage higher megapixels give a sportshooter is for sports like football. Due to the size of the field, the ability to crop more gives you more field coverage. But then the question is will you have enough time to work with files that are twice the size. I'm sure that's why Canon listened and gave us 4 MP as an option.

Today people ay complain about file size but who knows tomorrow. And what about when thos same PJ's want that image for other form factors than may require greater resolution? It's an evolving world and its pretty short sided to believe that a certain file size is all that will be used.

Naturally, the secrecy associated with the bank accounts in such places is central to the issue, not their low tax rates as the term 'tax havens' suggests. There is nothing wrong with anyone getting a green card but the process should be fair. There is nothing fair about getting GC within 6 months while people are waiting in line for 6- 8 years. All those who are getting in 6 months - good for them but the system should address it fairly. Its high time they look into it specially with retrogession coming into the picture.
