The recorded message at NVC says that on july 2nd they generated the fee bill and it was sent to my attorny. How long does it normally take to get the fee bill through. We are in the last week of jully now that 21days so far.
any ideas/expected time frames???

As I see, most of you are missing the point. Instead of trying to understand, you showing the maturity of mind. The whole purpose of EB immigration is to meet the Demand(Job opportunities) vs the supply(immediately available candidates).
When there are a lot of opportunities exists for EB3 level(skilled profession) and less opportunities exists for EB1(Ph.D/Executive Director), USCIS should give more no. of Visas to EB3, then EB1.
A country cannot be built with only the kings, and not even a home can be built with only Ph.Ds(Nobody do the dishes).

It's sad to see that IV core has to repeat the same stuff over and over again, to answer folks who never get tired of recycling their already answered questions !
I agree, this cycle of repeatition needs to be broken. IV Core please post this as a FAQ and post the link whenever this question is repeated ( RTFAQ - Read The FAQ).
IV Core did experiment with $20 contributions based on member feedback. Apparently that didn't work. $50 is apparently working better than $20, so IV is sticking to it. Members should use the energy spent on arguing with IV core to contributing to the cause instead.
I'm a monthly contributor as well as done onetime Google and PayPal contributions. Contributing onetime through PayPal isn't tough at all as it's made to sound here.

2) Click on Send Payment
3) Type in IV merchant id - donations@immigrationvoice.org. You need to do it only first time! Second time onwards it's available in a dropdown!
4) Type in the amount and comment to IV
5) Submit payment.
6) Done!

I think this has been discussed on some other thread.. would it be a good idea to make the contributions public.. may be, this encourages others to contribute, when they realize how much more is needed to reach the monetary goal.

I am about to renew my AP. What will be the start date on the new AP. Is it the date after the current AP expires(like with EAD) or the date the renewal application is approved. Appreciate any responses.

I filed I-40 on June,1th 2007. My lawyer will file my I-485 & I-765 by July 1st. I'm currently on F1- status , When i can start working? do i get an authorization to work before approval of the I-40?

I agree, if you are past 180 days since you applied for 485 and if your 140 is approved, it shouldn't matter if your ex employer withdraws 140 now, though I doubt he would.
This is another example of a bad desi employer trying to screw an employee. these stories make me puke. the employer did not have a problem when you found a project, when you negotiated rates and when you worked with the same client for 3 years and now all of a sudden he is holding you accountable. totally unprofessional . sic.

AC21 is nothing to do with AP. In AC21, you are changing the job WITHIN US, not leaving US. There is some securty related reason, for requiring one must not leave USA when AOS is pending. AP is for a short emergency travel during AOS. Yes..it will be a pain if AOS takes many years, particularly travel issues.

I wonder why every dicussion has to take a E2 vs E3, regional discrimination and other such things. Can't we have a proper engaging, fruitful discussion on any topic. Learn to respect and appreciate others. In God's scheme of things nobody is greater or smaller.

I am trying to efile AP and there is a question regarding date of intended departure and expected length of the trip. I am applying AP for emergency travel and don't have any fixed plans for travel now. Please let me know what to fill if any one is in the same situation who have e-filed.

My only problem is where will these illegals join the line ("Hope they have to join the line somewhere"). If they join the line at the 140 stage directly ie if they dont require labor certification, then what about the 100s of thousands of people waiting for labor clearance (for example im waiting from Aug 2001).
If they join the line directly at 485 ie if they pass a law saying illegals who have been in this country for 5 years can adjust their status straight away. ie file for 485 right away, what about the guys waiting for labor or 140 with all kinds of wage RFE etcs?
I guess if that passes all the legals who arrived here before 2001 are covered anyway. All they have to do is destroy their passports, throw away their immigration docs and apply as an illegal. :-)
So unless the law says they have to apply for labor certification its unfair. Its amnesty.
Even if they have to apply for labor, they will apply in perm and jump the line. (Unless the visa dates for Mexico stays retrogressed). In my case I cant do that because im in the 7th year and have been with the same firm for the last 5 years. So I cannot apply perm without taking a big gamble on loosing the priority date. (My job description has changed a little bit). So either way, Im screwed.
