I just applied to lending tree on wednesday for 450k loan. Still nobody contacted me :(. I have an excellent credit history and me and my wife both are using our history to apply. Finally looks the market is really tight in credit. Last time I applied for auto loan I got replies in couple of hours.

How did you send your payment? Was is a personal check or a Money Order.
I renewed 5 times for myself and five times for my wife and each time I sent a money order and it went thorough without issue.
I am not sure if they accept personal checks however. You have to look into that if that was how you were attempting to pay.
Once you have the correct payment method, and have done your part, contact your congressman's office, or your senators office, and have them follow it up. You could also explain the delay and send them a copy of the relevant documents including payments. FYI, always better to call their immigration liason and develop a regular contact with them.
It will be helpful to you and also help with any lobbying efforts. I urge more of you to do that.
I've got to tell you however that sometimes, even if you do everything right, they can be late. They took 124 days once for me, and I applied 96 days ahead of the expiry. In the end, no reason, no explanation, no apology, no nothing, just an approval notice and card. It is another of the uncertainties you have to deal with as an EAD holder. Fortunately for me I had a concurrent H1b running at the time and my Lawyer suggested I continue working.

I just check oxford dictionary to make sure whether I screwed somewhere but what I found is it was request to dollar500 from my side. It was not a advise. Rather you are advising me not to advise.. Is not it contradictory?
And if at all poster might have felt bad about my request s/he should have replied my post. Why on earth you wanted to jump in?

Due to the economic downturn there aren't many companies sponsoring GCs for employees. I doubt it would be more than 20 to 30k per year from now. This leaves 100-110k visas available every year for retrogressed countries like india and china
if there 300-400k pending GC applications in all categories then shouldn't all of us get our GC in next 3-4 years?
There is no way to clean every thing with in 3 to 4 years, Why because like EB3 china and India had country limit per year.

You should make sure that your employer is willing to support you. I dont know what kind of employer you have so cant speak about it. I moved to EAD and my employer fully supports me........be it 140 be it h1b or w/e. I have always helped him via sending people to join the company and now its his turn to give it back to me........so one has to evaluate his situation and then deicde.....

YEah i did get my passport renewed rigght after i came back from Canada.
However i totally forgot about my I-94.
So you think the only way to get the i-94 extended is to go out of country.
Even i heard about getting I-94 renewed from major international airports. Does anybody has any further information related to this?

Once you used EAD your status is AOS. You can't go back to H4/H1 unless some bad thing happened like 485 is denied.
once started usign EAD you can't go and come on H4/H1 status...
you have to use AP for travelling. If you have a doubt talk to the atternoy that filed your 485.

Thanks for sharing your experiences. Is LLC corp employer eligible to do H-1 transfer? I have an American citizen friend who has a LLC corp and work as an independent contractor. Can he file for my H-1 transfer and can I work for him?
His annual income is about 150 to 200K. I think he takes about 100K as salary and rest as company profit.
I have my 140 approved and 485 pending (>180 days).
Any potential risks with this approach?

If he's the only employee, CIS might scrutinize the application for Ability 2 Pay issue. I know friends who've gotten a successful H1 approval from companies with only 4 employees. However, CIS looks into the case in depth if a company is very small.

Ron is a very good person and a very competitive attorney. RK's charge was (very high) for main applicant and (still high) extra for each of the dependents. (This was on his website. check with him before you blindly believe me. Murthy never replied to my email, most likely interested only in corp clients I guess.) This was way more than I could have afford. RG charged only (fraction of what RK charges) for entire family and he offers superior service. I am 200% satisfied. I recommended him to many of my close friends for AC-21.

When my wife registered to the University here in New Hampshire they did not ask her for status.... and she did not bother to ask. She showed driver license and proof that she had been living in the state for more than one year. University registered her as a resident.

I filed mine on May 12 and sent to Phoenix Lock box and had the same issue. My checks are not cashed and am going through the same pain as you do. My lawyer suggested its not unusual to have these delays and it could take upto 4 weeks for the receipt notice to come. I am still tensed as the checks are not cashed and there is no receipt for the renewal. Please let me know how you are proceeding or find any new info

My wife worked as a consultant for first half of 2008 with a desi employer as an employee (on W-2). After many calls and emails we received W-2 Thursday that has income and taxes of only first two months. Now he says that he showed remaining 4 months as his profit so he can only send 1099. Please advise if I can take any legal action against this employer.

There is an option in turbo tax, if you didnot receive the w-2 from employer you need to submit another form. So explore that one and will give you more information.
I guess if you are submitting that form, IRS will take care of your employer issue. Otherwise just call the Trubo Tax people if you are using them.

Tear up your passports which any way does not have any pages left with all the yearly renewals and flush them down the toilet. Join the line for Z visas. Believe me that would give you more options, no problems while traveling, no tie up with your employer, no H1B's, no LC, No 140, no 485, no AC21, no advance parole paper work. You will be a free bird in this great nation. I thought that it was only in African and Asian countries that you beak the law and get away with it but here the lawmakers are encouraging the LEGAL's tax paying law abiding to do that. And most of the time these individuals are best and brightest in their fields.

Let them inform. Logically nothing should happen. The company wants to be in the safer side by informing USCIS.
Since you are in EAD, take unemployment and enjoy life. Hope for the best and get ready for the worst.
My company laid me off in one day without thinking a H1B guy has to leave the country immediatley. I asked them to buy my car, furniture and appartment lease as an obligation for fair value. Because of that i got 2 weeks more time to think over. Anyway they are not going to pay. Did you ask the company to pay you a return airfare to your country. If you ask, they will need time to research and you will get more free time.
