You can get a 3 year extension as long as you have an approved I140.

my I485 lud got updated today , but the case status is still showing pending, when i called the officer she said they dont know what is lud ? but she said the case is pending.. any idea what does it means when lud is updated does that mean the case is now ready to be assigned by officer ?????:confused:

You should make sure that your employer is willing to support you. I dont know what kind of employer you have so cant speak about it. I moved to EAD and my employer fully supports me........be it 140 be it h1b or w/e. I have always helped him via sending people to join the company and now its his turn to give it back to me........so one has to evaluate his situation and then deicde.....

Are we so idle that we are thinking about changing the name of IV? Don't we have something better to do like taking part in IV activities?
Well how about chaging our own names too so that americans can easily remember our names? I think that its a good idea too.
The suggestion for the name change was to identify us as "legal" tax paying individuals, and not for the ease of remembering the name.
However, I do agree that it may be too much of an effort, and would recomend that when communicating with lawmakes and other inviduals, we introduce ourselves as legal tax paying individuals that are trying to reunite families and children, and provide ourselves the freedom and the ability to further our careers by attempting to streamline the immigration process.

I am not sure about AP weather it gets canceled or what but I think you did a wise thing cos even if your 485 gets rejected you loose ur EAD and AP but based on your approved I-140 you can keep on getting H1 extension for 3 years. So H1 is much safer than EAD.

there are few famous talk show hosts in KABC radio (Southern california), atleast 5 of them, who have larger listeners and they have devoted one hour everyday regd immigration issues (until they kill this CIR bill because they dont like amnesty issue), they do usually their programs from morning 8am and 5pm-11pm, so I request IV core team to contact their producers using their 1-800 numbers and explain the other side of story i.e. documented workers and how they suffer and what relief this bill can provide us.

It would be good if more of you PhDs visiting here would post and share your ideas about what we should be doing to further the PACE amendments agenda. Regular posting by you and others will bring up new ideas and more importantly, keep up everyone�s motivation to see this thing through. Once postings and interactions reach a critical mass, things will pick up momentum which will see through the completion of our agenda. So please register with IV and post here, and also make yourself aware of the broader goals of IV and how you can contribute to it.

Those of us who know about the S1932 bill and the campaign to get it passed in December know how effective a forum the internet and a site like this can be. From what I understand you can only and still will only be able to file I-485 when your PD is current. Now, if you belong to rest of the world EB2 the moment your labor clears your PD is current so you can file at the same time I-485 and I-140. In future you will have to delay the filing of I-485 for the three months that I-140 takes to clear (if your PD is current the moment the labor clears).

I don't think it'll be brought to the senate floor if there's even a small chance of it being voted out. It'll be brought to the floor only after all the horse trading is complete and it's certain that the required votes will be met. If it's brought to the floor, it's 100% certain to go through.

This happened with me too yesterday and I wondered why it happened. I did get an alert message asking for this 'Trojan Horse ' to be put in vault'. It happened exactly while I opened this link and went to this site. Someone should send email to the owner of this blog to alert him.
My computer crashed several times after that and I had to reinstall OS to get rid of this virus. I am now in the process of installing all softwares again. All my strong anti-virus defense systems failed to stop this virus.
I got identical symptoms yesterday.. Have Mcafee..but after clean-up and rebooting my laptop won't come up..
Only reason am even writing is from my guilt of getting upset and blaming my young daughter who used the laptop just after I checked IV site. Other than getting the laptop back and make amends with my daughter have to see impact of data loss.
Hope this really does not happen again...

While we wait for October 1st (assuming visa numbers are over), what can be done in the next 13 days?
I am checking with different attorneys, and might change from my current attorney as he is totally useless. He opened a SR for me, and everytime I call him, he tells me to wait for 30 days.
I have taken Infopass, met the local senator, opened SR and nothing worked. Any ideas on what can be done next?

What if Employer & Lawyer are NOT willing to share a copy of Labor and no proof of Labor clearance has come from USCIS? Lawyer only says labor has been clear. What are the options?

Yes you can include your spouse to 485 when dates are current and is not dependent on H1B transfer.
